A Pantone Shade for Every Skin Color

The famed Pantone universal color matching system is vital for communicating color in a specified manner. Now Brazilian photographer Angelica Dass is using the company’s wide spectrum of shades for the Humanae project, in which she records all possible human skin tones on her website. In the ongoing project, Dass takes portraits of people from different ethnicities and ages, matches their skin color to a corresponding Pantone code and then fills the background with that shade, thus rendering the images a virtual collection of human paint swatches.
