Fussing with plastic party cups and bottles of liquor during an outdoor outing may soon be a thing of the past thanks to newly created venture STACKED Wines. The brainchild of former UC Irvine students Matt Zimmer, Jodi Wynn and Doug Allan, STACKED Wines makes individual servings of wine packaged in stemless-style glasses that retail as a four pack for $15. Currently offering Chardonnay, Merlot and Pinot Grigio, the four “stack” holds the same amount of wine as a regular bottle.
“We’re trying to do for wine what the can did for the beer industry,” Wynn said to the Orange County Register. “Until the ’50s, beer was sold in large bottles. The aluminum can met with resistance.”
