Spec Appeal at DVF’s Spring 2013 NYFW Show

Fashion and technology collided at the unexpectedly geek-chic Diane von Furstenberg Spring 2013 show at New York Fashion Week. During the runway collection, which saw DVF’s infamous wrap dresses take a backseat in favor of relaxed yet edgy caftans and color-blocking numbers, the designer sent models down the runway sporting glasses by Google. The specs contain a built-in camera that was used to capture runway and backstage footage from the perspective of the models, and it was combined with coverage of the days leading up to the show into a short documentary. In the words of DVF herself, “Fashion, technology,  it’s all about life, and it’s all about being the woman you want to be.” See the Google glass-created short below:
