The Health Benefits of Pumpkins

Halloween may be over, but pumpkins are just getting their second wind. Available in breads and cupcakes, as well as Starbucks’ infamous yearly latte, pumpkins enjoy a lot of love this time of the year. While the rich and comforting taste can be enough of a reason to indulge in the hearty flavor, the health benefits of this squash outweigh everything else, as MindBodyGreen recently discovered. Filled with Vitamin A and C to boost immunity and protect against certain forms of cancer respectively, pumpkins also contain fiber ideal for disgestion; magnesium for bone and teeth health; potassium and zinc for tip-top reproductive organs; and beta-carotene to ward off inflammation. So eat up, folks! Pumpkins are proof that sometimes the most delicious things can be good for you too!
