Vine Joins the Social Media Sphere

VineforiOSSocial media just welcomed a new addition to the family. Dubbed Vine, the Twitter-created site is a video-sharing platform where users can follow each other in the same vein as Instagram. Available as a free download from iTunes, Vine is a six-second, gift-like video that is on a continuous loop. “Vine is a big idea, yet it is a simple one—the two basic ingredients for a successful emerging technology recipe,” says Raman Kia, Conde Nast Media’s Executive Director of Digital Strategy to Fashionista. “It is no wonder that some brands are quick to jump in and experiment with it.” So far some of the companies and personalities utilizing the application include Warby Parker, Armani, Rachel Zoe and Neiman Marcus.
