Tidbits About The Wizard of Oz Series

We are really looking forward to checking out the highly anticipated prequel, Oz the Great and Powerful. Just like the famed 1939 film with Judy Garland The Wizard of Oz, these movies stem from L. Frank Baum’s beloved children’s novels about Dorothy and her adventures. But, there are many interesting bits of information from Baum’s books that are not so well known to big screen enthusiasts. In The Wonderful Wizard Oz, Dorothy wore silver shoes instead of the iconic ruby slippers. Also, girls figured prominently as the heroes in Baum’s 14-part series.
