Keep Split Ends at Bay

Unfortunately, this hair affliction happens to the best of us, but can be rendered less noticeable with a few precautions. Allure magazine chatted with Sally Hershberger Salon hairstylist Ruben Colon, who advised using a brush with natural bristles (such as Mason Pearson), and detangling hair in the shower with conditioner and a wide-tooth comb. Colon also told the glossy that tight rubber elastics should be replaced with ones made out of nylon instead to protect hair. Also, if possible, Colon recommends letting hair air-dry completely before styling to keep heat damage to a minimum. To read more about these strand saving tips, visit Allure.
