Hot on the heels of the spectacular opening weekend for Baz Luhrmann and Leonardo DiCaprio’s The Great Gatsby, we got to wondering about the second time success for the duo. After two popular collaborations on literary classics (Romeo & Juliet being the first), it seems that the director and actor should continue their perfect movie match-up on other films. Luhrmann and DiCaprio would be in great company, as Popsugar put together a list of famed directors and their actor muses such as Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, who have worked together on eight films starting with 1990’s Edward Scissorhands. Other successful film collaborators include Steven Soderbergh and Matt Damon, who have paired up on seven films (including the Ocean’s Trilogy); Wes Anderson and Bill Murray’s seven films that include Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums; and Quentin Tarantino and Samuel L. Jackson, whose five films include Pulp Fiction and last year’s Oscar-winning Django Unchained. To see more successful director and actor film pairings, visit PopSugar.
