Model Karen Elson’s Guide to Nashville

karen-elson4Model Karen Elson may be British by birth, but the former face of Chanel now calls Nashville home. After driving through the city seven years ago with then-husband Jack White, Elson tells Elle magazine that she decided to move to the South with her children and set down roots. Now an accomplished singer and Music City resident, the redheaded beauty knows her way around Nashville. She recommends visitors stay at the Hutton, an eco-friendly downtown boutique. For breakfast, Elson is a fan of the bistro Marché Artisan Foods, and she occasionally indulges in the seven-course tasting menu at the Catbird Seat, a James Beard Award–winning restaurant beloved for its spicy fried chicken skins topped with Wonder Bread puree. When it comes to shopping, Elson goes to H. Audrey to peruse wares from brands like A.L.C. and Jérôme Dreyfuss, and she spends many afternoons looking for rare vinyl records at Grimey’s.
